E N R I C H M E N T W E E K !
[day one]
German crash course it wasn't so bad after all!!! do you know that adidas, ritter sport, porsche, BMW and Siemens are German brands? COOL! and do you know the Germans invented aspirin and scotchtapes? COOL-ER!
in the words, 'w' is pronounced as 'v'. like when you see wurst, u pronounce it as 'vurst'~ and schmetterling means butterfly and hund means dog
and MANY more!!!
haha...and they gave us notes too...COOL-ER-ER!!!
hee. and we got to eat pretzels and gummy bears. wonderful inventions by the Germans again.
kudos to them!
Lingerie Talk by Triumph International
haha...it's an all girls event. received some discount cards and a free pink bra strap as souvenir! *nice*
they talked to us about the different types of bras, how to wear them, how to look after them etc.
overall rating: very informative. :)
and do you know that the first bra ever made was made of metal and it weighed ONE KILOGRAM???!!!
ohmygoooosh.
[day two]
E-bazaar
was quite reluctant to come at first...cause we were expecting some boring boring activities that required brainpower, numbers and more brainpower.
but we were WRONG!
at the meeting place which was LT2, Ms Ng split everyone up into 3 groups...we were supposed to number ourselves up until it reaches 42 and those people would form 1 group.
well what do you know? i struck lottery! haha...they counted and counted and counted...and before i knew what was going on, it stopped at madeline at 42.
oh my gawwd.
am i gg to be alone in another group???!!! noOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! it's gg to last eight HOURS leh!!! *screams*
haha...as it turned out, ms ng was acting like, er, ms ng again. she said," aiyah, whatever lar."
haha...so i stuck myself like superglue to mad. haha...
and naraen was so nice to keep us company the whole day.though we did made some friends...er, they were...nice? well...sorta, hehe. there's always a "but" u see...like "she's ver pretty, BUT..." or "he's very smart, BUT..."
first station was Table of Babylon
we were supposed to build a structure to hold eggs and we were given 1 metre of tape, a packet of straws, 8 sheets of newspapers and a pair of scissors. the catch is this, we have to build it to a minimum height of 50cm and must be able to hold 3 eggs on our structure. why?
Because our lovely maths teachers are so NICE to set the scoring that looks something like "score =(X-50)/2 + 5(n-3)" where x:height of structure and n:number of eggs. G-R-E-A-T.
we were also given more than 1.5 hours to do it. HA! eventually our structure was 59cm and held 10 eggs!!! yay* but NJ people too smart lah...lidat oso cant win.
the winning structure was 71cm. (0.o)!
treasure hunt
we were given 5 clues to draw 5 symbols and to write down the location of the answer.
1. a picture of 'no waiting sign' --> at the porch in front of the bookshop 2. a picture of a cactus and caption: i am green and can be found near a carpark --> in front of CA3 3. a picture of an artwork drawn by nj art students and caption: where am i hung? --> outside TC15 4. a picture of 'we rock' and caption 'we rock behind every metal beast' --> behind CA6 5. pe2wenty-one --> the gym
yay* though we didnt win, we got to have lunch early since we finished early. HA!
GC prog/math competition
learnt to use some cool programming wif the graphic calculators! haha...mad and i were totally blur cos we were the only J2 in the class...and the teacher was like, "why are you here? den you shouldnt have joined this course wad!"
i wanted to tell him "cause we were INITIALLY desperate to look for something to fill our 15hours and ms ng had called us to join and it's FREE. 8 hours leh!
we oso played some games which some nj students invented in some game invention competition held dunno last year or this year. they included flips (which was a modification of scrabble but played by making mathematical equations like 545+5=550 and our points would be square root of 550) and summation 21 (a card game like blackjack, but with 3 piles and a 'multiply' card )
what rocked the best was that we got 10 stamps on our card. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? haha... 2 stamps from table of babylon 2 stamps from treasure hunt 2 stamps from GC prog. 4 stamps from math competition.
we were supp to get 2 stamps each but due to some miscalculations by the teacher...*evil grin*
and i had so much fun playin neopets wif mad at bytz! we were shouting game commands so loudly that the guys from another terminal glared at us! fwahahax!!!
5:15 pm
Chasity at a young age...
why is it that kids are so open, as in literally, this days?
especially YOUNG kids...as in RRRRREALLY young.
the school uniforms that they wear are too short and why is it that even their parents are not doing anything about it?
knee lengths are okay. even a few inches above knee length are okay too.
but at the butt line???
kindergarten skirts are so short that when the little girl sits down, she basically shows her undies out for everyone to see.
*yuck*
and some sick ones love to lift up their skirts in public too.
what are they thinking???
i was on a bus today and this lil girl boarded the bus wif her mum. the bus was ver crowded so they had to share a seat together. naturally, you'll expect the girl to sit on her mother's legs...but this particular mother told her daughter to OPEN her(daughter) legs and put them beside her's(mum) such that the daughter's left leg would be beside her left leg and similarly for the right leg.
i was so disgusted by the scene that i turned away. *puked*
so the journey was long and the lil girl fell asleep and when they had to get down, the mother did not have the heart to wake her daughter up.
so although she was carrying a handbag on her left hand and a plastic bag and her wallet on her right hand, she proceeded on to carry her sleeping daughter down the bus.
so i had another free ticket to gross movie #2 where there were two bright moons in broad daylight.
*puked*
oh my gosh, if she were my daughter, i'd go "ah gurl ah...wear your skirt properly k? later got se lang kan jian bu hao de leh...xiu xiu!"
and now you know that are so many paedophiles around???

attended the five bucks econs seminar today~
it is very insightful.
the professors can speak better english than some nj lecturers.
the guy with the bell is very entertaining!!!!!!!!!! *grins*
the lunch break was THRILLING. *hahahahaha!!!!
seeing dixie again is sweet!
some things they say:
"opportunity cost of travelling here..."
"marginal cost of sitting nearer the stage is very little, but the marginal benefits is very high..." --> to attract us to sit nearer *baH! it takes more than that!
"back in the 1800s, the major superpowers are China, India and Europe. Why not US? cause back then there were only red indians dancing around there!"
